Description

This is for the Artist Training Grounds On Equestria Daily!

Today's prompt was to: Draw an emotional pony / Draw a pony fit to burst.

So I drew Violet Star being very sad, and the reason below, though it gets a bit dark.

I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you...

Anywhere, I would've followed you...

So the reason she is crying is that she just got back from being out, because someone had called her about something very bad that had happen to her house. And when she got back, she came back to her house being burnt down. When the fire was finally put out, she went inside to both of her parents missing. She was both glad and very sad at the same time. That's when it hit her, that she had lost everything that she had and that she may never see her parents again and began crying even harder, but as she was crying, she found her mother's necklace, and that just made her cry even harder, as she never takes it off, but is has not one scratch on it at all, as it somehow was protected and kept there for her to find. She looked at it and picked it up after a while and put in into her hair, so she would never forget where she came from. This is right before she met Saroba and got her Cutie Mark. This is way before the current timeline in my story. About 3 - 5 years before.

Before I say anything else --I'm a huge fan of the MLP style of art. It's always cutesy and so nice to look at! I can tell that you've inspired your style on that and I think you've done a fabulous job! (^_^)

The only thing I can really complain about is how there seem to be too few curves but too extreme curves at the same time. When drawing, remember that you are drawing a creature that has function and can move around. On those legs of theirs, I don't think they can walk because of how thin the connecting part is.

Still, I think this is a great start to showing emotions! The way they slump really shows off how they're really sad! It's clear you've put a lot of time and effort into this and for that, I applaud you! I would love to see more from you in the future so keep up the great work! (^_^)
